Not good for large amounts of snow, just not big enough to handle it. Good for places that don't get big dumps.

My neighbor and I bought identical ones in 2008. First 2 or so years ran like a champ w/o any issues. After that, my neighbors one needed a new cord and the electric start plug broke. Still running well w/o any issues whatsoever. Mine has an issue w/the choke, primer bulb had to be replaced, belt broke had to be replaced, vibrates like crazy, puts out black smoke at random times and now in 2013 snow comes out from both front of machine as well as chute. Go figure, 2 machines a week apart. Minor issues with one, major issues with the other. I will have to replace mine by end of this season. I'm off now to try and figure out how to tension the belt hoping that may fix some things with it, who knows, I may get lucky :-).

Bought this unit in 2010 when we bought a rental property for my wife to use as an office. Is a corner lot with lots of sidewalk. It works great! I haul it back and forth in my van and it fits easily. With a new vehicle and a hitch carrier it still transports nicely. Tend to go through rubber blades however. But considering how much area I do that is not surprising (neighbours on both sides, elderly couple down the street and my parents place). It has always started for me. I make sure I run it dry at the end of the season and do regular maintenance on it. Broke the auger when it picked up a hidden rock under the snow someone had put there. 20 minutes later fixed with the welder. There are some weak points on it but I have beefed those up with a bit of careful welding. Overall very pleased. Leave it outside all winter (covered) but nothing special done to it. Worth the money when I bought it on sale.

This is the third winter I've used this unit. I have found it be a very good value for relatively light use. I use it for sidewalks and to clear the driveway in front of my double garage. The electric start is an excellent feature for such an inexpensive machine. It has always started easily. Even after sitting all summer. It easily throws light snow 15-20 ft. Once the snow gets heavy and wet though it has trouble. Cold and fluffy snow it what it works best on. It handles quite easily. If someone can handle pushing a lawnmower around, they should have no trouble with this machine. There a few things I wish were better. The small rear wheels can make it a little difficult to maneuver over ice and snow. Also, this machine is not quiet. IMO, hearing protection is a must. The one thing that I really don't like is that there is no remote linkage for changing the chute direction. Constantly reaching over the machine to turn the chute gets old fast. Overall, I'm happy with this machine at its price point. Even with the few issues, this machine is a million times better than shoveling!
