It was time my old mower received a new blade. I was not sure if it would be at Canadian tire but I thought I need a couple of other things so off I went. I was impressed with the variety and quantity. I found my blade and it works perfect!

A: This blade is pre-sharpened, install and mow. However your blade should be checked regularly for nicks, chips, bends and wear. Depending on your soil type you may only need to sharpen your blade once a season, for people in Haldimand County, which has soil with a high clay content you may need to sharpen the blade 2 or 3 times a season depending on growing conditions and size of yard. I have witnessed blades missing the upper/outer trailing edge of the blade from the clay soil "sandblasting" the steel until it is almost paper thin and then breaking off. Always remove any branches or dead fall that is larger in diameter than your pinkie, this will save wear and tear on the blade, your machine and your ankles. Large branches, stones and clumps of clay can chip, bend or crack your lawnmower blade, a stone launched from a spinning blade can shatter windows and seriously harm a child or pet, always cut with care.
