I just got one. It works fantastic. I go camping a lot and this heats my tent and truck cap with no problem. I screwed it to a wider plywood base for better stability.

Not happy with this heater .

Very unsteady, kept falling over ,even when no one was in the tent . The only good thing is that it shots off when that happens .

Q: Is this suitable for an ice fishing shelter/tent?

A: Yes, you could use it for ice fishing granted that their is some sort of ventilation around. Another good safety feature of this product is that it has oxygen sensor in it which senses how much O2 is around. If the level of oxygen falls, the feature automatically shuts off the unit.

A: NO. This heater is only designed to run on a 1# propane cylinder. The Portable Buddy and Big Buddy Heaters run on a 1# cylinder but can also be attached to a bulk tank with the optional propane hose sold separately.

A: If you plan to go camping, and want some of that wonderful heat inside, I would recommend using a Propane Stove outside to heat up a Pot of water, then turn off the stove and bring the pot of water into the tent. Just make sure you put it on a piece of wood or something to keep it off the floor.

A: It’s a heater. It’s small. Not going to provide heat for multiple people. If you set it up infront of you pointing towards you and turn it on it will provide enough warmth for one person. Hopefully the person infront of you in the next row doesn’t have long hair , there is a flame !

A: Yes, the unit is supposed to stand vertically with a 1lb propane tank, otherwise the auto shut off would turn the unit off if the heater is angled at 45'.

Q: Can I use it inside my family van (Ford Windstar)? The heater not working anymore, a replacement motor cost $600..Any suggestion?

A: I wouldnt take the chance of using this inside a moving vehicle as the base is not wide enough or sturdy enough for that kind of use.

A: Yes, says so in the instructions...it throws a lot of heat. Possibly in a canvas tent it would be ok. I would still find out for sure beforehand.
