The Mr. Heater 18,000 BTU Big Buddy Portable Propane Heater is the perfect solution for heating small spaces up to 450 sq. ft. Two swivel regulators give you the ability to adapt usage from disposable cylinders to a remote gas supply with the purchase of a single hose and filter. To light the unit, simply push and rotate the knob. The built in Piezo sparking mechanism will take care of the rest. With the automatic Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) and accidental tip-over safety shut-off, you can be sure that you will enjoy years of comfortable outdoor safe heat.

Very unreliable. Brand new propane tanks and pilot light won’t stay lit in a warm shop. Don’t waste your money on this junk.

Won’t stay lite. Basically brand new

Bought it brand new last year and used it 4 times then stored it back in the box it came in and now this year will light and stay running for 5-10 minutes then shuts it self off. I cleaned it and thought maybe the little propane tanks wasn’t enough for it so I went a got the adapter hose for the 20 lb tank set up and the same thing happens. I’d definitely be returning this if I saved the receipt. Didn’t think this would be an issue for the price I paid. Definitely would stay away from these buddy heaters unless
You only plan on using it for a year.

A: It did not come with a carry bag and I don’t use one as it stays in my ice shack all the time but I think any bag that it will fit in will hold it as it is not that heavy. Hope that this helps you out

A: Tough question as you didn't state house or tent or garage etc. I would estimate that it would heat about 600 sq ft of insulated building. In -20C, it would keep a 100 sq ft uninsulated fishing tent warm.

A: Probably one of our best investments Last September we moved to the cottage but had no hydro till December 29. Being off the grid for winter we needed that 4am fix when the wood stove went out I love our Buddy Heater...on low the propane lasted 3- 4 days.When -30 storms came ...putting it on high ...lasted a couple of days but heater was on constantly. Highly recommended Well we had one cozy cottage & it's still our backup for power outages

A: You definitely want to hook to a 20 pound tank. There are quick coupler kits with hose and regulator available. Spend a bit more for a good one...the cheap ones have a plastic hose that is hard as rock in the cold.

A: Buy the 271803 if you have the big buddy it connects to the quick connect that way you can run both burners on high with the one hose and it requires no filter . With the others you will need 2 hoses ,1 for each side.

Q: why this Heater comes without FAN ? and on web site for Mr heater comes with FAN ?

A: They discontinued the fan to offset the cost of tariffs so they didn't need to raise the price . From what I understand the fan was battery powered and wasn't very powerful. I have the newer unit without the fan and it works great

A: Thank you for the inquiry. The heater will operate for 10 hours on Lo, 4.5 hours on Med, and 2.5 hours on Hi when using 2 1-lb bottles. Have a great day!

A: Thank you for your inquiry. Portable propane heaters are not legal to use indoors in Canada. The Big Buddy can heat up to 450 square feet on high.
