Battery replacement cost more than the units!

I bought similar units less than 3 years ago and the battery packs are toast already. They have not been used very often, we purchased them for hunting. I priced out replacement battery packs and they would cost more than the units cost initially! Now I am stuck using 3 AA batteries per unit :(. I was very irritated to say the least when I found this out yesterday.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: is this product compatible with non motorola 2-way radios?

A: All the two-way radios (FRS/GMRS) operate on the same frequencies and therefore can talk together. For instance; a customer with Cobra can talk to someone with Motorola as long as they are on the same code and sub code. That said, if the customer buys the MJ276 with 22 channels and 121 sub codes, they will only be able to use the sub codes assuming the other brand of walkie-talkie has sub codes as well; otherwise, they have to be on sub code 0 of the corresponding channel.

Q: When I turn on my radios they light up and show battery charged but as soon as I push the talk button they go dead.

A: If the radios are under warranty (1 year from date of purchase) we would suggest that bringing them in and exchange.
