Q: other motor oils have API rating of 'SP.' why does this product have the old 'SN' rating? thank you.

Q: What's the difference between MotoMaster OEPlus IMPORT 0W20 oil and MotoMaster OEPlus DOMESTIC 0W20? The description says the DOMESTIC oil 'fights against deposits' while the IMPORT one doesn't mention this. Can the DOMESTIC oil be used in import cars?

A: Formula of detergents are likely slightly deferent however this should not result in harming the engine internally. The importance is the correct viscosity for your engine and 2nd the API rating. These spec’s can be found in your owners manual.

Q: Description states "Exceeds the requirements of API SN PLUS, API SN and all previous categories, and ILSAC GF-6A" The 3 jugs I got Saturday state "ILSAC GF-5" not "ILSAC GF-6A" Did I simply get old expired oil or what?

A: The ilsac gf 5 was the old standard(2020), now it is branded as gf 6 (2021) with a higher standard. The fact that the jugs say gf 5 just means it was bottled in 2020, not expired. Gf 6 is slightly better simply because every year laws get more strict on refining and producing. Its the same oil, just cleaned a bit better for the new legislation.

Q: What and why are there 2 date code on OEPlus Import 0W20 oil? Is it the Bottled date or the Best before? One is MSA4A 10/14/19 23:01. Second is 01SEP20 What are the shelf life and from which date for sealed and also opened jugs?

A: Hi GaryQ, The shelf life on an un-opened bottle of oil is 4 years from the date on the packaging. The date on the packaging is the date of manufacture.

Q: I saw in store Motomaster OEPLUS for European cars that has specification MB 229.51 (same as I am looking for). Can I use this oil for diesel Mercedes?

A: For cars requiring MB 229.51 Approval it is recommended to use MotoMaster OE Plus European Engine Synthetic in grade 0W30 (SKU 028-7962) or 5W30 (SKU 028-7964).
