Q: Is the red label SAE 30 non-detergent rated API SB ? The blue label motomaster SAE 30 non-detergent was API SB for pre-1940 antique vehicules. There is no API rating on the current red label. Can you please confirm that the current red label SAE 30 non-detergent is still rated API SB ?

A: This product does not have an API rating and is not recommended for use in engines.

Q: Before this product stated the API rating being G-1 to G-6. Now it just states API. What is the API rating of this oil?

A: MotoMaster Non-Detergent 30 will of course meet no current engine oil specifications. As a gear oil it would meet API GL-1 (no extreme pressure additives). It could be used in applicatons such as piston air compressors, pressure washer pump housings, gears that require an API GL-1 SAE 30, and bearing lubrication. Oils used in differentials are typically API GL-5 (high level of EP additives). Transmissions often GL- 1 thru GL-4.
