Terrible Device

I have/had one of these battery packs for a few years and the battery died. The unit is still like new with only one or two boosts ever done. I disassembled the unit to replace the 12V 35Ahr U1R battery in inside and you can’t find them anywhere. This is a VERY expensive unit, that weighs a lot and has a battery that can’t be replaced. My suggestion is to get a NOCO pack. Much lighter, and better all around battery pack.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Died after less than 2 years

I purchased one of these units less than 2 years ago and it has died. After watching some videos and some trouble shooting research I have determined that the interior battery is kaput (i.e. won't accept a charge). The unit is now worthless and is past its warranty. I won't be buying another one of these.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Needs more amp hours

Would be great if it had a bit more juice (amp hours) has 33 could use 100. I bought this because it said it could power a trolling motor. They weren’t wrong but it only powered it for 1 hour

Q: My Nautilus marine AC charging adapter (#011-1553-2) shorted out and went kaput. Can't find where to get a Nautilus one. It's a class2 transformer output 13.5 VDC 1000mA. Will any AC/DC adapter do? See comments that I can use my trickle charger too??

  • A: If you want it to last get a good battery charger that charges and maintains it properly besides my nautilus I have about 20 different booster packs some with air and some with inverter most of mine are Canadian Tire brand the one I tore apart was black and decker to find the battery manufacturers web site and see if the RV website were right or was the booster pack manufacturer but didn't have to go to their website as written on the battery was do not discharge below 12.2 and float charge 13.4 and full charge is 14.8 and on the built-in charger was output 12 volts so it was dead to start with and being discharged too far sometimes to 0 volts. no wonder they only lasted a year since mine is missing the charger I was wondering if I could charge it by the charger input but finding out the charger does not charge to 14.8 volts I'll put in a plug to attach my good charger another Canadian Tire product and the only one I've found with proper charging perameters since they build mostly good products I'm planning on rebuilding and upgrading 3 of my old ones

Q: I was wondering if I can use the top posts for other 12 volt devices. I'm a ham radio operator and it would be great to power a 12 volt radio.

  • A: Hello. Canadian Tire sells a Universal Booster Pack AC/DC Charger model 011-1599. This would be compatible with your MotoMaster Nautilus power pack. However, this universal charger is rated only at 500mA (or .5A). That means it will take about twice as long to recharge your power pack. This is why I am recommending you use a low current automotive battery charger in my previous response. Any one of those chargers will recharge your power pack faster, 2 to 3 to 4 times faster depending on the model you choose. Plus, they have more sophisticated charging algorithms than a basic wall adapter so they will also help improve the performance and longevity of the internal battery. Plus, then you'll have a battery charger you can use you not only on your Nautilus Power Pack but also most other 12V batteries you have like your car, motorcycle, etc.

Q: which is accurate: my hand-held tire gauge or the pressure gauge on the Nautilus? When attached to the tire, does the nautilus gauge give an accurate pressure reading of the tire's psi?

3 Answers
  • A: Use a hand-held gauge! My experience (I've had 2 of these through the years) is that the gauge on the power pack reads high by as much as 10 PSI.

Q: Wattage for 120V Appliances? What is the maximum wattage for the AC plugs?

3 Answers
  • A: Actually those are both wrong answers. The box is not accurate. In the manual it states: 320 Watts continuous. 400 for up to 5 minutes. 600 surge. But it repeatedly states that if you go above 400 it will trip the breaker throughout the manual.
