Great that I bought multiple sets

Ive had the red version for at least 6 years now and have been left outdoors for months and no rust, they are very good for the money when on sale. I since purchased the new look in black/red which is the same item just different colors. Too bad they don’t match but fixing my cars is more important than the appearance of a tool.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great entry level 3T option

Bought these as a set to keep at my Moms for when I do her winter/summer tire swaps. A great affordable option when on sale for 3 Ton stands. I wouldn't buy a set that doesn't have the locking pin feature that this one has. It's a nice added safety feature that IMO should be standard for every set you buy. The welds seem good and clean, but nowadays they are fairly consistent across all products. Only think I dislike is the feet. If you use these on warmer pavement, they will sink in. Some jack stands have flat pieces welded to the corners to help distribute the load (Look at the Dewalt 3T jack stands). For this, i just cut a square piece of plywood that is about 2" larger than the footprint of this set of stands and I set these on it under the vehicle to protect my driveway. Remember to throw your wheel under the frame of the car as some added safety redundancy if you're getting under/crawling around under the car! And consider keeping your floor jack lifted as another layer of safety before getting under/working on the lifted vehicle (raise until it touches a jack point, and give it a little extra pump to add some support) . Safety first!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good value

I haven't had them very long but my fist impression is that these are reasonably safe and sturdy jack stands. The price point is very good for 3-ton stands, too.

Q: Hello, I'm curious about this moto master double lock jack stand my question is.. Is it 3tons each jack stand? or 3tons in pair

4 Answers
  • A: The industry standard is to rate a jack stand's capacity by it's max weight per pair. So this is probably the same.

Q: What are the upper and lower heights?

  • A: Download the owners manual, but the 11 3/4 lowest height and 17 1/2 highest height look about right from the info the manual gives.

Q: Can the 3-ton jacks lift up a 2005 Honda Odyssey and provide enough room underneath to do an oil change?

1 Answer
  • A: These are jack stands not a jack. They will hold up a your Odyssey once you've lifted it with your jack but they won't do the lifting. Hope this helps.

Q: Does it work with SUV like Toyota RAV4 or Nissan Rouge ?

1 Answer
  • A: The lift range of the MotoMaster 3-Ton Double-Lock Axle Stands (009-0017) is 11 11/16” - 17 33/64'' (29.7-44.5cm). This should be enough clearance for these vehicles. The weight capacity should be adequate for these vehicles as well, but this should still be verified with Toyota RAV4 or Nissan Rouge manuals to ensure your vehicle meets these requirements.

Q: Is it safe to rotate tires in diagonal using two stands and one floor transmission jack? If so, how? Thanks,

1 Answer
  • A: A safe and proper tire changeover job will require having the entire vehicle lifted with all four wheels off the ground on a level surface, using four jack stands and a hydraulic floor jack. Although a second pair of jack stands may add costs to the job, the investment is worth-while in the time savings from not having to lift/lower the vehicle multiple times. More importantly, it is not safe or recommended to do this job with a transmission jack and two jack stands. Do not use a transmission jack to lift the vehicle, especially using the transmission as the contact point as it is not load-bearing; only use a vehicle jack at designated jack points.

Q: I have a question for Motomaster or Canadian Tire: Is this jack designed so that once you engage the "quick set" (you've pulled the jack up to the desired height and it is now resting freely) you can then easily slip in the locking pin without having to tinker with the height of the jack?

1 Answer
  • A: The primary pin engages with every gear as the column of the jack stand is pulled up. Once reached the desired height, the secondary locking pin should be manually pushed through the hole without any need for further adjustment to the height of the column.
