Excellent lubricity!

I used this to change the oil in a compressor pump that wasn't changed for 10 years or more(?). Some neglected things at my parents' place. The pump is quieter now and I hope that the new oil is going to extend the life of the old compressor.

A: Although there are no specific API indications on the Oil Product (wierd), It does say, and I quote "and can also be used as circulating or non-detergent oil." 8th line on the back label. So this IS technically a non-detergent oil product.

Q: I have a Mastercraft 5 Gal air compressor. The manual says to use SAE 20 or 30 weight non-detergent oil. Canadian Tire didn't carry that type of oil. I bought this one instead as it claims to be used in piston type air compressors, as mine is. Is ok?

A: Yes, this oil sounds like the right thing for your compressor. Some newer compressors require synthetic oil, but it will say so in the specifications.

Q: Is ISO 32 compressor oil 30 weight and non detergent

A: ISO viscosity grade 32 relates to the viscosity bracket 28.8 to 35.2 mm(sq-rd)/s at a temperature rating of 40 degrees C. So a 30 weight oil is rating at 100 degree C. So the flow rate for the 30 weight is at a higher temperature. If the oil was used in a compressor in the winter it wouldn't run but, run OK on a summer day.

Q: Description states this is compatible with "industrial type air compressors and vacuum pumps" yet in the questions below, CTC says this is NOT for vacuum pumps - which is it?!

A: Hi Steve, thank you for your question.This product, the MotoMaster Compressor Oil for Industrial Type Air Compressors (028-0221), can be used in industrial-type vacuum pumps. The other question refers to Chamber Vacuum Sealers, it can not be used in food-grade type vacuum pump applications

Q: I know that my english is not good but I think that even an english spoken person can understand a question like "What is the item number of the iso 32 compressor oil?" because on the shelf of the store, 028-0221-0 is a iso 68 compressor oil.

A: Hi Cibdetab, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Please be assured that product with number 028-0221-0 is now ISO 32. In the past, it was ISO 68, however now it is ISO 32 and has different packaging to what you see on this webpage. It is possible your store had old product still in stock.

Q: is this similar or the same as Vacuum pump oils for Chamber Vacuum Sealers?

A: Thank you for your question. Motomaster Compressor Oil ISO 68 is not designed for use in vacuum systems. For food sealing applications, a food grade vacuum pump oil is required. At this time we do not have a compatible oil for these applications. We will continue to look for an option to add to our assortment.

A: Yes this product is non-detergent but it is not a 30 weight oil, it is an SAE 20 weight oil. Part number 028-7113-6 is the product you would need.
