    Memory saver works well

Did a battery swap on 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. It saved all my settings and I had no issues after the battery replacement. I used a power station to power the saver. The station showed 14w consumption at the pick, while I tried to keep everything turned off. I would recommend this product.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Did not work on my 2014 Outback

Unfortunately this did not work to retain the clock or prevent any impact to the ECU. Had to go through a relearn cycle and still have errors that will hopefully clear in the next few drives. I would caution any Subaru owners when using this device.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    MotoMaster Battery Replacement Memory Saver/Vehicl

The memory saver worked well to save my radio and vehicle's settings. It was more expensive than I expected. If it came with a socket, to attach to the backup battery, I would have given it 5 stars.

Worked great, wasn’t sure if I would loose the cars memory during battery replacement or not but this eliminated the possibility.

Q: Does everyone's Memory Saver LED indicator turn off when they disconnect their car battery?

    2 Answers
    • A: The LED light will illuminate whenever 12V DC power is present. The best way to use this product is to: 1. Cconnect it to your 12V DC power supply (e.g. booster pack) and ensure the LED lights up - this will confirm you have a good/function power supply. 2. Then disconnect from the power supply and connect to your OBDII port and ensure the LED lights up - this will confirm you have a good connection to your vehicle. 3. Now that you've confirmed you're good on both ends, go ahead and plug back into your 12V power supply and feel confident you can proceed with disconnecting you car's battery.

Q: I plugged in the Memory saver to my power pack and the LED light came on. Plugged it in to the OBDII. Did the other way around as well. When i disconnected by car battery, the LED light came off? is this normal?

    • A: Sorry, but I did not notice the light and my memory saver worked great after I disconnected my battery. What I did notice though is that when I plug my memory saver into my OBD2 port, I noticed the light came on even before I turned my power pack on. Make sure you turn on your power pack supply!

Q: Can I use a 12v ac to dc converter to use as the power supply ?

    • A: Unfortunately I am not qualified to answer this question. Note that the plug is designed to get power from the power plug (e.g. cigarette lighter) of another car

Q: Picture shows a cigarette lighter connection end, but description reads "...to a 12V DC external power source such as a booster pack". How with that type of connector shown in the picture, please? Thanks.

    1 Answer
    • A: The 12V male end of this cable plugs into the 12V female port of a booster pack, such as model 010-2065. You use the battery in the booster pack to keep your memory settings which removing the car battery. Or, if you don't own a booster pack, you can use it with 037-4563 Bluehive 12V Extension to "borrow" power from another car's 12V outlet, or with Bluehive 12V Socket with Clamps to "borrow" power from any 12V battery.

Q: Would this device prevent the Powertrain Control Module from forgetting its adaptive memory settings in its Keep Alive Memory (KAM) chip such as fuel mixture, transmission shift points etc.?

    1 Answer
    • A: This product, when used in conjunction with a booster pack as a 12V power source, will fill the role of your battery while it is removed. If the reason your Power Control Module would "forget" its adaptive memory settings is because the battery is disconnected, then yes, using this product (along with a booster pack) would prevent that.

    1 Answer

Q: How long is the cord?

    1 Answer
    • A: The Memory Saver is about 3.5' long which should allow you to connect to a booster pack situated on your vehicle floor. If you require a longer cable to, for example, borrow power from a neighbouring vehicle's 12V outlet/cigarette lighter, you can use this Memory Saver with something like 037-4555 AutoTrends 20' Extension. Another useful accessory may be 037-4552 AutoTrends 12V Socket with Battery Clips if you want to connect to a spare car battery as a power source (instead of a booster pack).

Q: i would like to charge battery the in the car for 10 hours or so can i leave the memory saver on the car for all that time the battery will be disconnected from the car.

    1 Answer
    • A: Assuming the car will not be used (i.e. parked and not running), this should be fine. It really just boils down to ensuring your power supply (e.g. booster pack) that you are going to plus the Memory Saver into has enough capacity (power) to last 10 hours. Key off draw should be very minimal so we don’t see little so most booster packs would easy support 10 hours.

Q: How does led light work? I connected this product to my power pack only and the led light came on, without connection to the obd. It seems that the led light coming on falsely signals the unit is connected.
