J'ai ce modèle depuis 4 ans, je l'utilise quelques fois par année, pour remettre l'air au besoin et pour les dégonflements lents. Réellement silencieux. Il fonctionne encore comme un neuf. Je viens d'en offrir un en cadeau.

I spent the extra money to purchase this "better" compressor about 2 years ago since the air hose on the pervious CTC compressor cracked after limited use. However, this new more expensive compressor has now crapped out. The compressor starts, but then bogs down and just buzzes.

I just bought this product expecting the usual Motomaster reliability. In fairness, I believe this product may have been a return. The latex surround that covers the threads inside the inflator cap (the part that you place over and lock onto your tire valve) was ragged and half pulled out of the cap. I'm not sure if this is a required part of the cap or needs to be removed. I welcome comments on this. Also, when trying to inflate a car tire with 15 psi, this pump jumped to 77 psi as soon as I powered up, so I turned it off right away. On a second attempt with a pre-set psi of 33, the pump registered 45 psi. Not a great start or something I would recommend.

A: 12 volts, plug into the car but it didn't work well. I plugged it into the car and when I ran it, it caused my car fuse broke. I do not understand why?

Q: The typical fused current supply for a vehicle's cigarette lighter is just 10 Amps while this inflator has a Continuous Current draw of 12 Amps, a Maximum Amperage draw of 14 Amps, and is itself fused at 15 Amps. Can anyone explain this? Tks.

A: Thank you for your comprehensive answer, Rived. Alligator Clips would work, re: your suggestion: ('...consider connecting the inflator directly to the vehicle's battery using the provided alligator clips...') Unfortunately, nowhere in the products description is there a mention of Alligator Clips. I also downloaded the manual for the Inflator - no mention of alligator clips there either. And, the pics of the product on CT's website does not show alligator clips. Are they optional, perhaps?

A: Yes. It's a small electric air compressor. Can pump a mounted tire from flat no problem.

Q: What is the length of the air hose? Is this direct drive worth purchasing over the gear drive digital tire inflator, which one would considered better than the other? Which one of the two has the better advantage and will also last the longest?

A: The air hose is 2 Feet long. The electrical connection will allow you to plug into your cigarette lighter/12 volt power source and reach all 4 tires on your car. I have filled up vehicles parked beside my car with this pump. It is quick and pretty quiet. I am not sure what the difference is between the gear drive and direct drive pumps.

A: It plugs into a 12 volt power source like a cigarette lighter in a car. Unfortunately, you can't plug it into a household electrical outlet.
