    NOT a Halogen Light

This is not a halogen motion light like all others that I've seen, the type that take the J3 bulbs. It just has the ability to take round flood light or halogen bulbs. I guess that's why "no image available" comes up on the page.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    CHEAP!!

I bought this light on sale for $9.00. It worked normally for 2 months and started sticking on. Then sticking off. You would have to flick your light switch to get it to turn on. The light itself is over five years old now and still working but the motion sensor part gave up the ghost in less than 6 months and never worked again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Not reliable

The first one I purchased lasted 12 months. The second one only 6 months. They were great while working, but then they would get very erratic. (Would not come on, would not go off etc.) I am using it in my garage so cannot blame it on bad weather.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Works Well.

At first I thought it would not last too long since it was the cheapest set available at the time, however it’s gone through 4 years of continuous use in all weathers and it’s still working fine. The motion sensor can be adjusted to turn on from movement of a small cat to a big car.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Questions

    1 - 4 of 4 Questions

Q: Why does it have to be halogen? The bulbs aren't included are they? Is there any reason why I can't use an incandescent, CFL, or LED bulb? (assuming it would be an outdoor bulb if the fixture is mounted outdoors)

    1 Answer
    • A: This fixture requires two 150 watt halogen bulbs, which are not included. This is the bulb type that is approved for use with this particular fixture. Thanks for your question!

Q: Has the issues noted inc product reviews been addressed? judging by the comments, it appears there was a possible issue with the reliability of the light and sensor. Does anyone know if the issues have been addressed? ie: does the sensor last now? or is this considered a disposable option?

    1 Answer
    • A: There is no issue with the sensor and light when installed correctly regardless of any product reviews. If it turns out you have this issue, it can be returned during the warranty period and replaced.
