Didn’t work out of the box!

I bought this for my 5 yr old son for Christmas and he was so excited about it because he has a ton of minis but no playset, but to our dismay once we put the batteries in (which was a challenge because they kept popping out before you could get the cover on) we placed it on a hard surface as instructed and loaded it up but it didn’t work. The light would flicker and I could hear a noise like a motor but no action. So be sure to keep your receipt handy if you purchase this ad it may be faulty!

Like another review here, this toy did not work despite trying multiple sets of brand new batteries - it doesn’t seem to get power or function.

Interesting new toy that loses interest quickly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Monster jam mini scorpion playset definitely needs to be assembled by an adult. There are a lot of instructions, which look intimidating but easy to assemble for the most part. Mini sets have become very popular. My older son does not appreciate them as much as my younger son. My younger son definitely gets a thrill out of the mini micro designs. Any boy that I have run across loves his monster trucks so this is a nice specific genre that I believe a lot of children will go for. Scorpion design is cool enough. Intriguing. The set is kind of flimsy so any rough housing would not do well. We all know how rough kids can be with toys. For the most part it's a cool toy. I only gave it a three-star because my younger son became bored of it quickly. When it was something new he played with it constantly. Now it's every now and again.
