Incorrect information on Canadian Tire Website

The water heater does not have a 6 year warranty as stated. The warranty is only 1 year (parts only) with an additional 5 years for just the tank, which should last decades with maintenance!
Do not buy this; shop elsewhere for a better deal on a better product.

Like a lot of reviews I was happy in the beginning. After 4 years it started to show signs of leaking. Year 5 it started to put water on the floor. And year 6 it had to be replaced. I did get my money out of it and it has some nice features which is why I gave it 2 stars but comparing the price of the heater to renting from the city the cost is about the same if you have to replace it after 6 years! Now I have a city water heater that is completely covered if something happens. That is a no brainer! Avoid this product.

Hot water tank.

Easy to install and provides all the hot water we need. However, I was a little disappointed that this product comes with a six-year warranty, whereas the previous unit (by same manufacturer) came with a nine-year warranty. Watch for a follow-up review in six years time!!!

A: This particular heater is a 40-gallon atmospheric gas model. The only way to vent this heater is through a chimney. It cannot be vented outside through an opening as it requires the draw from the atmosphere – no electricity is required for this model. However, the 9-year 40-gallon gas 063-1178-2 and 12-year 40-gallon gas 63-1179-0 (Energy Star models) do require electricity as the flue damper on these models is powered.

Q: Your size description is misleading if not wrong. It says 151 litres or 33 US gallons. It can't be both. If it's 151 litres, it is 33 Imperial (Canadian) gallons and 40 US gallons. Please clarify..

A: Based on the information that the vendor provided, a standard gas water heater may be installed in a mobile home IF the home ceases to be used as a mobile home or recreational vehicle and is placed at a location in a permanent fixed manner. This means that a standard gas water heater may be installed in a mobile (manufactured) home if the home is in a fixed location and no longer portable. In such a dwelling, the water heater installation must comply with the B149.1-10 code. Even though the Atmospheric are certified for mobile homes, the vendor strongly recommends a Direct vent style heater be installed which pulls combustion air from the outside and exhausts to the outside. A lot of mobile home installations end up being installed in a closet or a confined space. We do not carry this type of water heater.
