Bad design for slightly smaller toilet roll cores

This is a gorgeous toilet paper holder - I have the bathroom faucet, grab bar and small towel bar. But this piece was deceiving as the design for the pivoting paper 'rod' is quite different from other pivoting toilet paper holders I have bought for other houses/bathrooms (and which were Moen products). As one has to get the toilet paper roll over the round end piece of the pivot one is restricted to the type of toilet paper one can use. I buy 100% bamboo toilet paper in an effort to be more sustainable and the cardboard core for the roll is slightly smaller than what appears to be North American regulation size for the core. As a result one had to battle to get the roll over that end piece and I'm sure the holder wouldn't have stayed on the wall for long due to the effort that was required to jam the roll over that end piece. As a result I never installed it and got a slightly different Moen holder that was close in style.
No, I do not recommend this product.
