Q: synthetic filter with the benefits of the extended service oil, does Canadian Tire carry the matching synthetic filter? If not, why wouldn't they.

A: Yes they do carry a synthetic filter, product number 17-1644-4. Synthetic filters are supposed to have smaller fibers (but not bigger holes) so they can trap more dirt and have better flow. A: Engine oil lubricates and cools the turbo, so it makes sense to use the best oil you find. Any Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil will do you well. Personally, I don’t drive much and only change my oil once a year which is why I buy Mobil 1’s Extended Performance Synthetic Oil. It’s rated for 25,000 km (which I don’t get even close too), OR 1 year, whichever comes first. Definitely use synthetic.

Q: partial oil change (filter not changed) Can I mix Mobil1 synthetic oil to extended performance if I do partial oil change? I change oil on my 2000 durango every 3 months coz I do very short trips every day, just getting 1500 miles on 3months and I will be using mobil 1 filter? thanks.

Q: Will this oil be okay to use in a 2009 Nissan Maxima V6 engine? Other motor oils cause my engine to make a loud ticking sound and a rough idle.

Q: Hi, I have a 2012 BMW 320i, it takes 5W30 oil and while adding my car into the system, it says this oil doesnt fit in my car. Suggestions? Appreciate all answers
5 years agoA: Hi IIyas, thanks so much for your question. We have double checked with our technical service team and were also unable to find an oil that fits the criteria for your car. We were able to find that BMWs from the 300i family call for a spec called BMW Longlife 01 and the only Can/US product that meets this spec is the Mobil Super Synethetic Euro 5W40 which we do not currently have at Canadian Tire. If your vehicle is covered by a warranty, follow the vehicle's oil life sensor or the oil change interval recommended in your owner's manual. A: this product family is an excellent choice as long as the appropriate SAE grade, and API service class requirements are respected (as recommended for the 4-stroke generator engine in question).
