Metabo Framing Nailer, 3-1/2-in Cordless

Having owned a number of nailer that under preformed or died, left my expectations at a low bar. To my surprise I have found the metabo hpt 36v framing nailer met and exceeded all my needs. Easy adjustment for nail depths, easy loading, long lived charge (battery seems to last forever), shoots accurately and always consistently. It's just a little heavier than most ,but well balance d. Excellent tool for the professional or DIY er I recommend.

I am not a professional framer, however, I do a lot of construction. I have a pneumatic nailer that has never let me down but I was sick of the hoses and dragging an air compressor around to the point that I drove all my nails by hand. This can mean thousands when doing sheathing. My current project is a shop 32' X 52' X 15' high all plywood clad. I was getting a sore wrist driving nails. There had to be a better way. For its light weight and cordless freedom I had considered buying a butane powered tool but the idea of constantly buying consumables didn't thrill me. This left battery powered nailers. I read many reviews and the Metabo line of battery powered nailers, was very well liked. Even though I do not have any other Metabo cordless tools, I jumped in and bought the nailer. It is a solid looking tool and feels good in my hand. I have now driven many hundreds of nails with it and it has not had a misfire, not one. It is easy to put the nail where you want as visibility to the business end is good. Even though the tool is quite heavy my 65 year old arm does not have a problem using it in extended arm positions, with some breaks. I have a second, larger, battery on order but I don't know if it was necessary as I still have not charged the first battery (2.5/5 amp hour) after hundreds of nails. I am happy with the nailer to the point that I have ordered a Metabo grinder. That should say something.

Tool is fast and efficient, however 5 months after my purchase, and only about a 40 hours of working time, the gun fails to turn on. Just completely dead.

I’ve tried a few nailers before and was looking for a change but this nailer isn’t it it drives nails good until it doesn’t less then two weeks of framing with the nailer and it stopped working and stopped firing nails I wouldn’t recommend this nailer to anyone who plans on using it a lot and metabo customer service doesn’t help or know anything about the problems or problem solving

I have been using this nail gun for a few months now and it hasn't jammed once! The battery lasts all day no problem. I was so impressed with this tool that I've been replacing all my other tool with Metabo ones, like my circular saw, impact and drills. The batteries are half the price and twice the power of even Rigid tools! That's a deal breaker enough for me.
