Q: Why is "Not for use on OEM wheels." In the description? I plan to use them on both my OEM aluminum wheel and steel winter rims for my 2016 Honda Accord. I get the "This product fits your 2016 Honda Accord" on the search and they look like they will do??
2 years agoA: Hello. The reason for this footnote is because McGard part # 64012 will NOT fit properly on the OEM wheels of a 2016 Honda Accord. The 64012 lug nut has a 60 degree conical seat. The OEM wheels for the 2016 Honda Accord use a completely different seating surface lug nut as it takes a radius seat / ball seat lug nut. McGard does NOT offer anything in the aftermarket that fits the OEM wheels because of this. If you were putting aftermarket cone seat wheels on the vehicle, then and only then, would the 64012 lug nut work with that aftermarket cone seat wheel because it would require the same 60 degree conical seat nut that the lug hole in the aftermarket wheel has. Q: What is the taper seat angle in degrees?
5 years agoA: Hello Domenic. All of our regular cone seat, bulge cone seat, and SplineDrive lug nuts use a 60 degree taper. The 64012 is a bulge cone seat, meaning there is an extended seating surface designed to match a wider seating surface used on some aluminum wheels.

Q: Will the 64012 nuts fit the factory aluminum wheels on my 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT? Is the angle appropriate for the seats on the wheels?
a year agoA: Hi there. Unfortunately, these wheel nuts will not fit your vehicle. 611-074.1 Dorman Wheel Nut may fit. Please contact the nearest store and they should be to confirm. Thanks.

Q: Why does it say here, "Not for use on steel wheels" yet on the McGard website and everywhere else for that matter, "For use with steel or aluminum wheels"?
6 years agoA: We would have to guess that it is due to the year, make and model of the vehicle that you are looking at putting the 64012 lug nut on as there are certain vehicles that this part will not work if there is a steel wheel on the vehicle. In general the 64012 is usually okay to be used on either steel or aluminum wheels unless otherwise noted within a specific application look up.
