The cut was not as smooth as I hoped, but it could have been the material I was cutting.

Q: Is this a good blade for wet cutting glass subway tile?

2 Answers
  • A: Run the tile though very slowly, slow will give you a fairly neat cut. Faster cutting you will get a lot more edge chipping. Experiment first ;)

Q: Can this blade cut quartz?

1 Answer
  • A: For cutting a hard material like quartz, we would instead recommend using either the Maximum 4-1/2" Turbo Diamond Blade (0541094) or the Maximum 4-1/2" Segmented Diamond Blade (0556930).

Q: Have12” & 6”porcelain/1/4” tiles. Using C.T.10A Sliding Wet Tile Saw(blade0541093) & C.T. 4.6A Wet Tile Saw. Cutting tiles ahead. How much continuous cutting, by time or tiles, can each saw tolerate before I need to rest motors so I don’t burn them out?

1 Answer
  • A: You can keep continuously cutting until you've finished the job by wet cutting. If it’s dry cutting, it would be better to stop and keep the blade cooling after 20 minutes.

Q: Will this blade give me a cleaner cut than the blade that comes with the table top wet saw. I have both the 7" and 4 1/2 wet saws from CT. The cuts are rather ragged and not a cut you would want to leave exposed. I've had to use a sanding stone to try and soften the chips but thats a lot of extra work for a so so result

1 Answer
  • A: I've found that the larger the diameter of the saw blade the cleaner the cut. The cuts also get a bit more ragged if the blade is nearing the end of it's life. Make sure to keep your water clean as well. Once it becomes a bit sludgy it is less effective in lubricating the wheel and preventing chips. Also, go slower with the press through the blade when you need a fine finish.
