So far it is holding up to my abuse but the extendable handle pops out easily and comes out of its grove quite easily if you are not careful. Almost lost the detente ball a few times already.

A: Short answer no. I wouldn't count on a ratchet to hold large force loads and plus it's 3/8 drive not 1/2.
