Q: What is the break away torque on this impact.
6 years agoA: Breakaway torque is a measure of an already existing condition of where a lug nut has been tightened. An impact gun is not designed to measure breakaway torque. You must use a torque wrench to measure the value of the breakaway torque. Once you have measured the value of the breakaway torque you will be able to determine if the impact wrench you are going to use is capable, based on maximum torque versus the breakaway torque value, to loosen the lug nut.

6 years agoA: No, the Maximum batteries are only compatible with Maximum branded products. This is consistent with all other power tool brands as well, i.e. their battery only works on their brands.

Q: CAN THE HAMMER FUNCTION BE SWITCHED OFF FOR JUST A MORE QUIET USE TORQUE SITUATION?
7 years agoA: No. An impact wrench is designed with an 'impact' function that loosens the nut, it is an integral part of the tool. If you wishe to purchase a tool with the option to not use the hammer function you would need to purchase a tool such as 54-2109 MX 20V Hammer Drill. However, you would not obtain the torque of the impact wrench in question.

Q: When storing the impact wrench, should the battery be removed?
8 years agoA: It is fine to leave the battery mounted to the tool when not in use, even for prolonged periods of time. Similarly, the battery can stay mounted to an active MX battery charger. The battery charger will maintain the battery in a fully charged state without damaging the battery or drawing excessive current. In this way your battery will be optimally charged when starting your next project. The battery can also remain mounted to the battery charger when the battery charger is not plugged in (similar to drill mounted), albeit, there will be some continuous minor loss of battery charge over extended periods of time. Check your battery's charge prior to use and consider to fully charge it if necessary (depending on the size of job).
