Had to return it as it doesn’t fit MasterCraft power tools. It is 6 pin while MasterCraft is 5.

First, there are no claims made that the battery of either brand will fit the other. Mastercraft and Maximum are not the same tools. Mastercraft is a good DIY tool but Maximum are Pro grade tools. Performance specifications are different. It is not simply 6 versus 5 pin. The circuit boards that reside in both the batteries and tools communicate different between the battery and tool. Even if they did fit, the tool would not perform as expected and may not perform at all. There are no power tool brands in the marketplace at this time that have interchangeable batteries. Rating the battery a 1 is certainly not justified, I have three of these batteries and they perform exceptionally well.

A: The following items are compatible - please note that they have various amperages, generally a 4Ah battery or higher is preferrable for higher power drain tools such as grinders, reciprocating saws, sanders, etc., so you may wish to research the items on the CT website to select the best battery based on your current and planned future applications: 54-6702, 54-4266, 54-7597, 54-7983, 54-8715

Q: Will it work with my yardworks Canadian tire garden tools? I have chain saw, pole saw,hedge trimmer and leaf blower. All take lithium batteries. 20V. BUT 6amp is what the tools came with. Old battery is dead and replacement is very hard to find or discontinued.

A: It is common practice for batteries to be designed only for the tool brand they are initially attached to. This is done to maximize performance of the tool and the battery. Unfortunately, the Maximum batteries only operate with Maximum branded tools. If you are having difficulty finding a replacement battery for your tools, please pose the question against a product of the same brand as your tools. Or, call the Customer Service phone number associated with that brand of tools and they should be able to assist you.
