Q: How do you get the shop vac adapter off that comes with the unit and is mounted on it? You have to get it off to put on the dust canister??!! Pushed in the tab there and twisted it, won't budge. Even the 1 800 service centre doesn't know.

A: Answering my own question. Thanks John74, sorry it broke. The fellow at CT and I figured it out, after I posted my question and wasn't able to self answer till now. Rock and pull the shop vac adapter and it moves and comes off. Won't twist as there is a ridge and channel for the adapter. Tab is self operating and you don't have to push it in to remove the adapter. The canister then clips in with the tab when you put it on.

Q: What is the recommended maintenance procedure for cleaning (the pores of) the canister to maintain dust filtering efficiency?

A: Hello, in order to maintain the effectiveness of the dust filter, it is advised to conduct the following procedures: 1. Take the dust canister out of the sander; 2. While holding the dust canister body, press the release button to release the micro-filter; and 3. Take the micro-filter out of the dust canister. 4. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clear dust after knocking out extra dust from the micro-filter.

A: Go to https://www.mecanair.net/en/produits.php to get a whole canister, the filter is built into it it seems. $18. Not great but not too bad. Could possibly blow air outside in with the canister off to clean it?

Q: Is this a rugged perfomance sander for years of service as Makita or Bosch, with SS ball/sleeve bearings or built with cheap, ABS plastic or nylon bearings as most Chinese, variously branded disposable sanders that deteriorate even if seldom used?
