The Mastercraft 2-Shelf Heavy-Duty Wall Storage System includes 2 separate wire mesh shelves that can be easily mounted on finished or unfinished walls. These adaptable storage shelves are fully modular, and can be installed side by side or stacked on top of one another. The wall shelves utilize low profile brackets to help maximize the available space for storage, and assist in the easy installation of the floating shelves themselves. With an overall weight capacity of 400 lb (181.44 kg), this shelving unit can support a wide variety of objects. Thanks to fairly compact dimensions, it’s easy to add these Mastercraft shelves to an existing storage space. These shelves are in my garage to add some additional storage. They attach to studs with large lag screws that easily connect using a ratchet. Very good quality. Much better than other wired shelving solution like closetmaid.

Q: I will need to cut this because I need it to be 41” wide. I would like to know what gauge the ends are in order to buy end caps to fit the cut ends.

A: There are two gauges of wire to deal with, the innner shelf and the heavy outer rim. Cutting this shelf may compromise the strength. Plastic caps, if that’s what you are using should come in several different sizes and not cost much, as you need only 6 per shelf if you cut just one side.

Q: Hi, I have a 42” space and these shelves are 45”. Can I cut them to the nearest width support (the shorter metal wires that run the width) with a hacksaw? Will it do anything to the stability of the shelf?

A: Yes you can definitely cut them as long as the new width is wider than where you install the brackets (likely, the studs).

Q: Can the screws that come with the shelves be used on concrete wall?

A: Hello! I'm very happy with that very sturdy shelve, by the way. Yes, the concrete screws are blue-colored "tapcon" concrete screws. These screws have an hexagonal head, for which I had no driver. So I used fillips-head tapcons. Use a masonry drill bit of the right size (slightly smaller in diameter to the tap cons) to drill pilot holes into your concrete. Then go on. Got all my electronic meters stored on it, and a neon light hanging from it. Looks awesome. Hopes this helps Leo77, best wishes, Claude.

Q: Can the brackets slide to be installed at different widths apart (to match studs) or are they fixed at a specific distance apart on the shelf?

A: They are not fixed at a specific distance apart on the shelf. The shelf length dimension is 114cm, so the brackets slide can be installed at different widths apart between 70 - 100cm.
