awesome saw~

bought this May long weekend on sale 40% off, and it works amazingly! its not too too heavy considering what it can do! It cuts smoothly, i thought i would have to sand down the edges after but didnt have to! i love it! only thing is i wish it came with a rolling workstation or at least one on the side you can buy that 1) matches it and 2) is a perfect match for it. other than that, its great!

Yes, I recommend this product.

When on sale!!!

For the price I paid when it was on sale at 50% off, this saw does the job, very well. Considering what it can cut, it is comparable to a much more expensive saw. The only problem I've come across so far is the laser gets dirty after a few days of use. Also, the blade that it comes with isn't great. Had it sharpened and it made this saw almost faultless. Would recommend this saw to anyone not using it for commercial use, but for a DIY'er, it's great!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I'm on my 4th return in a week for this product. 1st return was a broken bevel clip, 2nd was the exchange given to me was a used saw, and I mean REALLY used! 3rd return was due to the saw guard being out of alignment. The guard guide kept slipping off. With the cuts I have made it does a nice smooth cut. Laser Line and Light is a bonus. My 2 grips about this The Extension Wings are weak and the screws to hold them in are not that effective. Hope they build them in with the next model and make the saw and wings all one piece. As mentioned in other posts the bevel lock is flawed. Mine became so loose that the clip just flopped around. I took the bevel bolt off the back, and the metal clip that holds the bolt in place. , Tightened both bolts up and loosened it just enough with the clip so the bevel would move. All I do now is lift the clip to loosen, down to lock. No pulling the clip or etc .... I hope they fix this. OR at least add it in the manual. Overall I was disappointed with doing all the exchanges, but with the right one you'll be happy with it. My advice - Check it all out before you take it home. Ask the sales guys to go over the product with you to make sure everything functions as it should. Spend the time to make sure everything is aligned correctly, and get to know the product before making cuts.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: WHERE is the "blade wrench/screwdriver"

  • A: At the very back of the machine below the rear lifting handle. Very hard to find and not clear in the instructions.

Q: how do you lock the bevel position? It appears that the lock lever on the front should do something, but it doesn't. The manual refers to a bevel lock knob and yet there is none. There is a lock pin that locks it at zero but still allows bevel in one direction. Nothing locks the bevel.

  • A: I kinda of the same "issue". There's a nut on the back of the saw that's screwed on to the threaded rod that's attached to the "bevel lock knob". What I had to do was to adjust that nut until I was happy with the tightness when locked down and the looseness when unlocked. Too loose and it won't lock down and it'll also fall over too easily. Hope this helps, manual could be a lot clearer on this issue.

Q: Saw starts up really slow, takes about 2seconds to reach full rmp is this normal.

  • A: That is what is called soft start, keeps the circuit breaker from blowing when several people are using the same circuit. A large start up surge is avoided, it uses less peak power, nicer on a generator also.

Q: blade alignment My saw is cutting at an angle making a bevel but is locked in at "0" degrees. how do i adjust this I cant find the manual.

  • A: pages 15 and 16 of the manual. First make sure that when you swing the saw from bevelled left to centre that you hit the zero degree lock pin firmly; if you do you can not pull it out. If the saw is not square to the table then there's a locking screw that can be screwed in or out to set the zero point. I'm guessing that it must be moving a conical profiled rod in/out or a cam that interferes with the zero stop.

Q: Does the laser on the maximum dual-bevel compound miter saw adjustable. It is very accurate on one side but way off on the other and it moves as the saw descent to do the cut.

Q: Postive Stops for Crown Moulding? Are there positive stops for cutting 'Canadian' crown moulding to ensure 100% accurate cuts when cutting corners?

2 Answers
  • A: I have never seen a compound mitersaw sold in Canada with the correct marking for canadian crown molding. Canadian crown molding is made to go up at a 45 degree angel the us uses a 33 degree angel. Best solution go to Dewalts web site and download the instructions for cutting crownmolding it gives all the angels for canadian and us. no matter what angle the room corner it will give you the saw settings. Gives pictures too
