Found out almost everything I own has AC power

a year ago

There isn't a single surface in my kitchen that doesn't have AC power, including my wife, going to it. Without this device I would have never known that. Thanks, mastercraft! In all seriousness, this is the single worst stud finder I have ever used. Phantom studs, can't find edges, and worst of all it doesn't beep when I hold it to my chest. Obviously a defective product

HUGE Discovery / Fix regarding complaints!!!

HUGE Discovery! Yes, as everyone reports, normally this thing is constantly alarming for a wire "present". Out of the blue, I discovered an amazing fix for this!! While using your finder with one hand, place your other hand flat against the wall within about a foot of the finder and the wire alarm magically STOPS!!! Seriously, try it. For me it made it suddenly useful and quiet. Obviously they didn't get the tuning right at the factory, but if you already have this stud finder, try this fix! I swear, it works! (Still only 3 stars because you still have to take your hand off the wall to grasp the pencil from your teeth to mark the stud, Lol, but it works!)

Pourri ne commence même pas à décrire cette engeance d'appareil. Il ne détecte pas les montants qui sont là, il détecte des montants qui n'existent pas, il ne détecte pas ces faux montants deux fois à la même place et l'alarme de détection de fils électriques sonne en permanence! POURRi !!!!!!

Worst piece of junk ever

I bought this today without reading the reviews and reeaallyy regret it because whatever everyone else says in their reviews I echo plus more absolute piece of junk!!!!!!!!!!! And if possible wouldn't give it one signal star but this review site doesn't allow it

Q: what are the 3 modes for...I just cant seem to get my mastercrqft stud finder to read the same stud twice and when I do pick up something there's not always a stud there

A: The mode buttons are selected for three depth modes. Please refer manual Page 2 7. MODE Button (MODE means SELECT) Used to select desired detection depth mode: 1/2" detection depth mode, 1" detection depth mode, or 1 1/2" detection depth mode. If the wall surface or internal is sags and crests, it will impact capacitance data, so the situation will occur as user described.
