The carbide point worked well for the first few scribes. The issue is that the only thing holding it in place is the thin end of the "pen". After two scribes it loosened and fell out after each use. I could slide it in and there was enough friction to keep it in place for another scribe, but after that scribe had to put it back into place because it fell out after the scribe. I had it on my work table and the carbide point was knocked out my jostling of wrenches next to it on the table. It is now lost. I guess that is what you get for so little. If you are even a hobby metal worker like me, don't be cheap and get a better quality one.

No, I do not recommend this product.
