Q: What is the thickness of this wire wheel ? I'd like to know if it can use on Mastcrafts 6inch bench grinder
11 years agoA: The thickness of the 8 inch Wire Wheel Brush (Coarse) is 0.3mm. The biggest factor is the RPM rating. The 8” wire wheel brush has a max rpm rating of 3750. You should check the rpm rating on his bench grinder to make sure it is not greater than 3750. If not the wheel should be fine to fit on the bench grinder provided there is sufficient space for the 8” diameter wheel to turn freely.

Q: arbor width 1" - Can this work? I own a 8" bench grinder with a 1" wide arbor with 5/8" shaft size. I purchased this wheel to fit my grinder but the width seems to be way off. Am I suppose to use some sort of adapter or do I need a different wheel entirely? Thanks
13 years agoA: In many cases the threaded part of the arbour shaft on a bench grinder is not long enough for most wheels, therefore, you will need to use washers to build out the wire wheel from the shaft.
