Won't fit in dowling jig!

I'm going to give it a 1 star for now. I bought it on sale. I only needed a 1/2"bit but the kit was on sale so for a few dollars more I bought the 7pc set. But .... I needed it to drill holes for dowels and I also bought the Milescraft Dowel Jig. I know that neither of these are high quality items but they should be good enough for a simple project I have that needs a few dowels. The problem ....... The 1/2" bit from this kit will not fit in the 1/2" hole for the dowling jig. Beats me if the dowling jig hole is too small or the bit is oversized but these items should work together. One of these items is defective but I'm not sure which? Because of this problem I'm not sure this is manufactured to the proper spec. I don't like leaving a 1 star review so if I find out the bit is not acutally to blame I'll come back and edit this review or leave a new one. I'd appreciate any intelligent input on this.

I bought these on sale, I believe the regular price is pretty good as well. Don't force the drill; support it going in and coming out! Especially the 1/4" as it gets extremely hot..
