Buy anything but this

Bought this for my father a while back. Was still sealed in box so I borrowed it for some home renovation. Absolute junk. Better off used as a hammer. I’ve been using it for brand new trim installation. Marks up the wood around each nail. More often than not doesn’t fire a nail. I got two piece of trim installed in my bathroom when the gun stopped working just releasing air through trigger. Attempted to followed troubleshooting suggestions by disassembling. Needless to say this gun will never be able to work again due to cheap and weak parts. Save yourself the time and spend the extra money to get yourself Milwaukee product instead.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Father and I bought same unit. Mine did the moldings in one room and my father got about the same. Had to use two to make one, never lasted long after that.

Terrible product, have had it for just over a year mainly used for putting in trim and baseboard, gun misfires constantly. Save your money and a buy a better brand

Q: I am confused. User Manual Page 3 Specs: nailer requires .046SCF/cycle at 90 PSI. Page 11 recommendation: 4SCFM at 90PSI. Would the MAXIMUM 4-Gallon Ultra Quiet Portable Air Compressor (58-1292-2) be adequte for this 3 in 1 Nailer (058-8489-4)?

A: The 90 psi requirement means the nailer will function adequately and deliver the nails properly. The 4 gallon capacity tank will limit the number of nails that can be set before you must pause to allow the tank to refill. Eg. perhaps 1 or 2 before you pause to allow the pressure to rebuild. A higher capacity tank will allow more nails before the pressure drops below optimal pressure .

Q: Marring the material When using finishing nails, the gun leaves a major impression in the wood. Rather than a pin hole it's leaving a crown. Is there a fix for this? A finishing nailer should not mark the wood so.

A: More often than not it 's an issue of pressure, yours or the compressors. Try reducing the pressure to the gun, while not pressing any harder than necessary to keep the tip depressed and the nose in contact with your material to ensure the fastener flushes. This gun also has an adjustment they call a "depth setting" you could back that off somewhat to make "fine" adjustments after trying the above. Good Luck

Q: 2 1/2 " nails came with my nailer, can't figure out how to install them?? The others are easy to install. 2 1/2 nails are in the package.

A: Look at the instruction manual. Those nails load into the magazine on the other size of the gun.

A: No. The gauge Is too big. They'll jam the gun. Stick with the 16 gauge.

Q: Can you use this nailer to nail on 1 " frames onto wood signs? are there more than one strength of nail for this nailer?

A: This product can use a range of nails which will require different pressure based on the wood density. It can be used to attached 1 " frames onto wood signs. Please see attached chart for information on wood density, pressure requirements, and nail size. More information can be found in the manual available on the product web page.

I have seen 5/16", 1/4", 7/32", 3/16", 5/32" all listed as narrow crown staples. So what is the maximum crown width it can handle? What is the minimum crown width it can use?
