I really liked this pole saw it was easy to use and used the same batteries as my drill and other tools. But the motor died, I bought a new one and it died as well. There was always oil in the reservoir and I changed chains so that they were sharp. Both times it was in late winter, so not hot out and not really cold. It would be cutting just fine and then I went to lop off another branch and it was dead. Battery was fine, switch was fine. I got more use out of the first one than I did the second.

I had my doubts, but this thing is awesome. Such a time saver. Cuts through limbs super quick. Using the extension at 9’ is pretty heavy but saves cutting on a ladder. Much safer.

Okay, but any branch over 3" are hard to cut, and I'm just NOT feeling the power I would expect from a tool like this.
Does the job, but anything bigger than 2-3" your better off using a chainsaw.

A: When it is completely assembled with all attachments the full length of tool is 10ft. I can reach branches that are pretty high up. If I can’t then I can get any others from being safely up on a ladder. When reaching your full length outwards with tool it can be heavy and a struggle so proceed with caution when doing so.

Q: No apparent info in docs about replacement chain but 1 thing I saw on 8" S33 Oregon pack I bought at CT was a width of .050 while the chain bag that came with the saw had .043. What is correct replacement chain? It does not fit! Correct = ?

A: Sorry Mastercraft, that chain sold as the only replacement @ CT does not fit properly as mentioned earlier. The correct 1 is 3/8 LP 0.043x33DL. That is spec from bag on chain supplied with the pole saw.
