Compact MIG Welder

This welder works great if you have prior experience with welding. It was easy to set up and was available for a great price. Remember to buy 0.003" wire, welding gloves and a certified welding helmet to use with it because it does not come as a kit. Wear clothing that will withstand hot sparks and have water nearby.

Q: I'm thinking of buying this in the next few days. But I'm just wondering if can I just plug-in to outlet in my garage which has a 15A circuit? and would this be any danger to cause any fire? Thnaks

  • A: Welder will run on 15 amps okay for short periods but just be aware that you are at greater risk of eventually throwing a breaker. The recommended operating circuit for this welder is ideally a 20 amp circuit for optimum performance and reliability.

Q: Is this inverter model noticeably better than the older 120v model? I know these welders are worth their weight in gold but is this inverter one worth the extra pennies or just stick with the older one and save some money?

Q: I am trying to use this welder with mastercraft 16 gauge 50' yellow power cord. 15 amp breaker is not holding circuit when I just try to weld. It is not even cycle, just first touch to the metal. Am I doing something wrong or machine has issue?

  • A: I have got this power cord from Canadian Tire specifically for this welder. I will ask them to change it if problem is related to power cord. When I ask question, they usually say, they are licensed or certified to help but very not nice situation.

Q: Est-elle capable de souder de l'aluminium?

2 Answers
  • A: Non.

Q: Can you purchase replacement nozzles for this welder?  I can’t find any on the website. I’m not looking for the contact tip.  The nozzle goes over the contact tip.

  • A: The fluxcore nozzles are bit harder to find but the mig nozzles work too and some prefer them because they shield the tip from grounding out .
