    Great Little Workhorse

This unit was the last one (auto on/off) available at my local Cdn Tire store. I quickly picked it up and have been using it ever since during rainy season. I love the fact that it can be left without my attention 24-hours a day since it will start on its own and stop when there's minimum water left. Beats standing around waiting for the pumping to finish.... It's a real little workhorse and am really happy I got hold of this unit. I haven't seen any more of these units on the website and I think that it's been discontinued. I can't understand why. Anyway - I'm happy with my little pump...

    Yes, I recommend this product.

When immersed in water cycles but does not pump, just cycles. Useless. Just buy regular pump and a float switch.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: I have an electronic sump pump, 062-3572-0. There appears to be 3 sensors, 1 long and 2 short. Can I select which sensor to use? I need the longest, but the shortest is triggering the pump now. I have no manual. Help!

    1 Answer
    • A: Hi Bryan, It has 2 long and 1 short sensor. One is for high water turn-on, one is for low water shut-off. One of the long sensors is common which will participate in both turn-one and turn-off. So you don't need to choose any. It automatically turns on when water goes up over 1 1/2 inches and turns off when water goes down to 1/4 inch.

Q: Can this pump be run continuously for 24 hours? I need to pump a bunch of rain water collected on top of a tarp.

    1 Answer
    • A: This pump is fully automatic in operation. If the water level is over 1-1/4 in., the water detector senses water. Then the control system built in the pump automatically starts the pump and the pump continues to run until water is pumped down to 1/4 in. deep, and then it stops. If the water level is not over 1-1/4 in., the pump will not start.

Q: Clarification, does this pump start and stop automaticly depending on the presents of water.. There seems to be a descrepancy between the features listed and the answers give in two questions about this product. Please clairfy what turns this pump off once it has automaticly starts with the presents of water. Thank you.

    1 Answer
    • A: This pumps has a timed auto on/off feature. If the pump is placed in water then plugged in it will operate for 3 minutes, check to see if water still remains and if so it will continue to operate for another 3 minutes. It will repeat this cycle. If the pump does not detect any water after 3 minutes, it will auto shut off. Once off it will remain off for a full 3 minutes regardless of the amount of water present. It could be submerged and still not turn on. At 3 minutes it will check to see if there is water and turn on for another 3 minutes if there is. If not, it will stay off for another 3 minutes. There is an assumption that since it continues to run after the water is drained it doesn’t have an auto shut off but this is not the case, once turned on it has to run for a full 3 minutes before it can auto turn off. It is also assumed since it does not turn on instantly in the presence of water that it is defective which is also untrue. It cycles every 3 minutes to check if water is present and turns on/off accordingly. The cycling on/off every 3 minutes is designed to minimize your pump from running dry, reduce wear and tear on the pump and save energy. If the pump checked water levels every 10 seconds the pump would turn on/off far too often and wear out much quicker. Submersible pumps are designed to be submerged and operate a few minutes at a time to ensure there is a constant flow of water through and around the pump to keep it cool.
