Product Details

Easily irrigate many areas with the Mastercraft 1-1/2-HP Irrigation & Lawn Sprinkler Pump. This lawn sprinkler pump is ideal for pumping water from a lake, pond or stream to above-ground sprinklers. Powered by a heavy-duty 1 ½ HP motor, this irrigation water pump is designed for permanent installation. With a maximum flow of 1200 U.S. GPH (4542 L/h), this sprinkler pump runs on a permanent split-capacitator motor which offers lower amperage, keeping the motor cool while also increasing the longevity of the irrigation pump. The corrosion-resistant thermoplastic impeller and diffuser boost performance while also improving the efficiency of the water flow. This irrigation booster pump has a carrying handle for easy portability and an on/off switch for quick operation. The stainless-steel pump housing provides lasting durability and corrosion resistance. Built-in thermal overload protection prevents the motor from overheating by switching off the pump before damage occurs. This product includes a 6’7” (2m) power cord. To operate, you may need a hose, PVC pipes and PVC elbows (sold separately).

This pump works so far

So far so good! This pump is holding up under light loads to occasionally move water from a pool into a nearby lawn sprinkler system. It was easy to set up and use. I’m glad the garden hose adapters are included.

Best pump for irrigation from a lake or a river as the source.

Great product. Highly recommended. Irrigating from the Rideau river. Slope to the river is over 25 feet and connected a 100 foot hose with a brass foot valve to the intake and watering our lawn with a 150 foot long hose. Works like a charm. Make sure it's covered from the rain.

Q: How many amps does it need( I have a limited power supply from a small generator)

Q: what size hose should i use for the intake side along with a foot valve? or does this come with an intake hose?

3 Answers
  • A: The intake side is 1" and it does not come with a hose or foot valve. The out put side is also 1" but it comes with a reducer to 3/4" to fit your standard garden hose

  • A: I use this on my window cleaning, it will only run up to 25 psi on a buffer tank but when hooked up to a house spigot it will add another 40 psi on existing pressure

Q: how far can this pump move the water it pumps, how far and to a maximum of what grade, im looking to feed a water slide that is about 350 feet long, and rises probabally 50-70 from the base of the lake. it is for a summer camp.

2 Answers
  • A: The question for pumps is not so much how far it can pump but how high and what flow rate. Package says it can pump can move 3407 L/h to a height of 50ft and 1817 L/h to a height of 100 ft. To reduce friction losses use a larger hose/pipe. I think this pump will do the job you require.

Q: Hi, Does this pump require a tank to store the water or can It run without a tank? I will use it to pump water from a lake and water the garden...

2 Answers
  • A: It does not require a tank, we have a garden hose hooked up to ours. We also use it to pump water from the lake to water our garden and lawn as well as washing vehicle and boat. Works great, lots of pressure.

Q: Can this pump be deadheaded for short periods? I want to use with a hose nozzle for watering flower gardens, so it will periodically have no flow for a few minutes as I move around the yard...

2 Answers
  • A: From the user manual: Do not run the pump with the outlet pipe or hose nozzle closed. This will cause damage to the pump, or burst the hose from excessive pressure. This could result in death or serious injury. Use only reinforced high-pressure hoses or pipes for the outlet connection or pipes for the inlet (suction) connection.

  • A: No there is no pressure switch. It only has an on/off switch out off the box.

Q: One or both of the bearings are grinding and the pump is way past warranty. How do I get the fan end cap off of the pump to be able to unbolt it? Is it friction fit or spot welded or are there release tabs?

1 Answer
  • Product Specialist

A: The motor housing is a friction fit. It will be very difficult to disassemble this pump. We recommend that you bring it to a pump repair shop.
