Q: How do you screw the two pieces together to keep it from sliding around? Do you need to use a metal drill?

A: You have to put the screws through the actual slots in the middle of the grids as there are not any holes pre-drilled, then then attach the wingnut on the bottom of the grid. The picture "instructions" are very deceiving.

A: In this case you don't need your BBQ serial # to find the 6" or 8" wide replacement grills that you need. Simply measure the width of your current cooking surface from left to right. You can use a combination of 6" and 8" replacement grids to meet this width. For example if the cooking surface is 28" - 29" wide, you can use a combination of 2 x 6" grids and 2 x 8" grids for replacement. If your cooking surface is 32" - 33" wide, you can use 4 x 8" grids for replacement. You can refer to the cross reference on the back of both the 6" and 8" replacement grid packages (85-1454-2 and 85-1456-8) for a complete size chart.

Q: I have an old Master Chef b-b-q. I can't see an obvious serial number. I need to know whether my replacement grill should be 6 or 8 cm.

The serial number is located either on the cart side panel, the upper rear panel of your BBQ or on the rating plate. Q: Does food stick to the grates

Q: Maste4r Chef BBQ #G45320 Can these grates be extended to a length of 18 inches?

A: They sure can. I found it easy to adjust within the limits it claims in the description!!!

Q: How do you screw the two pieces together to keep it from sliding around? Do you need to use a metal drill?

A: You have to put the screws through the actual slots in the middle of the grids as there are not any holes pre-drilled, then then attach the wingnut on the bottom of the grid. The picture "instructions" are very deceiving.

Q: I would like to use these in a smoker and need to know the shortened lengt and the length they expand too please. Can you help me out with the overall and contracted length of both the 6”and 8” versions please?

A: The 6” (085-1454) and 8” (085-1456) universal cooking grids both extend from 12” (30.4cm) to 20” (50.8cm).

Q: Correction - 6 or 8 inches.

Q: I have an old Master Chef b-b-q. I can't see an obvious serial number. I need to know whether my replacement grill should be 6 or 8 cm.

Q: I want to use two of these grates as rock grates under a cooking grid. How thick are they?
