I bought my pizza oven one year ago. It worked well for the first three times then the fourth time it burst into flames when I started the oven. Thankfully I was able to turn off the gas and put out the fire. Fortunately no one was injured. I contacted Master Chef with photos. They responded with my warranty had expired a few weeks before this incident. In their response they said that I ship the oven to be repaired with me paying for all the costs which included all shipping costs, parts and labor. If you have this product, please be careful! I am writing this so one will be seriously injured. I cannot recommend this product.

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear that you experienced a fire in your Master Chef pizza oven! The most common causes of a fire within the pizza oven are:
1. Flare-ups caused by food, flour and/or debris inside the pizza oven that catches fire. - Clean inside pizza oven to correct
2. Flashback Fire which is caused by nesting insects, most often spiders who spin webs and block burners, forcing the flame back toward the control panel - Perform burner maintenance (information on page 29 of user manual) to correct.
3. Leak in fuel line somewhere between the propane cylinder and manifold assembly. - Perform a leak test (page 14 of your user manual) to correct.

We're not sure which Master Chef customer support line you contacted, but we do not offer the option of sending your pizza oven for repairs and have it sent back. Customer care provides replacement parts and/or troubleshooting assistance over the phone or video chat with the option to SEND customers replacement parts. We do not offer the option of you sending your pizza oven for repair. Looked at all the top brands in the market and decided to use my CT Money and try it....overall very impressed with the performance. Having the right heat doughs with 00 flour makes for a better pizza and a corn meal sprinkle under your pizza is best. Turn your pie every 20secs and boom, it's done to perfection....

Q: Bought this pizza oven 2 weeks ago..dough in the middle remains raw. Tried different temperatures and always raw. Best way to clean...looks black and can not get it clean.

  • A: Thank you for reaching out. Are you by any chance using frozen pizza? Frozen pizzas work well in the Master Chef Pizza Oven. However, we use the term "frozen" loosely, because you will actually want to remove the pizza from the freezer and let it sit until it reaches room temperature. This is to avoid throwing something extremely cold on something extremely hot. Tip: As with raw pizza dough, you may want to dust the pizza peel with a bit of flour (try semolina flour, as it does not char as easily) before placing the thawed pizza onto the peel, as some frozen pizza dough can become sticky as they thaw. Q: Having difficulty with this pizza oven. Pizza burns and in order to put it in the oven the dough is thick. Used it twice . What dough recipe do you use? Tried the recipe in book.

Please consider subscribing to our YouTube channel, where you can find tips and tricks for how to use your pizza oven as well as recipes and more! https://www.youtube.com/@masterchefgrills5212 Pizzas only require 60-120 seconds (or less) to finish in the Master Chef Pizza Oven, so it is recommended to rotate the pizza 1/4 turn every 15 seconds to avoid burning the crust. Semolina flour is the best product to use because it will allow you to shift the pizza around on the peel. Additionally, semolina flour resists burning and is easy to clean up. Tip regarding burning: While getting accustomed to the high pizza oven temperatures, the use of the Control Knob to adjust temperatures until you're comfortable is recommended. Hope this helps!

  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. As with any outdoor cooking gas appliance colder temperatures will affect preheat times, and temperature maintenance. Preheating your oven will be important to ensure the cordierite pizza stone is ready, as well as making sure to position the oven out of the way of direct wind will help with temperature maintenance. The Master Chef Pizza Oven does have insulation, but these adjustments will help. One Additional Tip: We would recommend is focusing on New York Style and/or Chicago Style pizza which requires lower temperatures for cooking. Hope this helps!

Q: Can this be used with a 11lb or 5lb propane tank in stead of 20lb?

  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Master Chef 12" Pizza Oven is designed for a regulator with a UL-listed Type 1 (CGA 810) connection. As long as the 5lbs and 10lbs use these connections (which they typically do), then yes. Double check the connection information on the propane cylinder. Please note: Regardless of propane cylinder size, safety specifications remain. Proper set-up of the tank and the pizza oven should be followed; more specifically smaller tanks should never be located on the same surface or beside the pizza oven. Position the pizza oven on an elevated, stable surface (such as a table) with the tank positioned beside it on the ground. For more information, please refer to the user manual (Page 12). Q: What are the inside dimensions of this oven, length, width and height..? Will anything bigger then a 12" pizza peel fit inside..?

  • A: The pizza stone is 13” wide so its possible to fit a larger pizza, but for the best cooking results we recommend making a pizza not much larger than 12”.
