Great at retaining heat

Replaced the metal burner deflectors on a large natural gas bbq with a grate and these briquettes to increase cooking heat and retain heat when the lid is up. They worked well and i was able to cook burgers for a group of 30 people in record time. A little expensive but if they last a reasonable time, worth the investment.

These briquets are perfect for replacing crumbling outdoor propane fireplace lava stones. They make for a more comfortable flame and a more efficient than the original stones especially at lower flame levels.

A: No. The 85-1281-2 Master Chef Ceramic Briquettes were designed to be used for replacement for lava rock in older BBQ’s. The exact fit ceramic bricks for this Cuisinart 2 burner propane grill can be purchased at Canadian Tire. They come in an 8 piece box under part # 85-3793-2.

A: My BBQ is a "Broil King Sovereign" purchased over 20 years ago, and I just replaced the original briquets. I was lucky to find that Canadian Tire had them for sale, because the BBQ will last forever.

A: The 85-1281-2 Ceramic Briquettes are manufactured for the replacement of lava rock in gas grill applications. The briquettes can be used in a fire table if the use is approved by the fire table manufacturer and you follow the manufacturer's instructions for the distribution of the briquettes around the burner.

A: Do not use in a wood burning stove. This is not a charcoal briquette. It's a ceramic briquette designed to replace lava rock in an older style gas BBQ.
