It's a good size bag but unfortuneately it's an American product. I would prefer more options from Canadian companies

Made in Canada eh?

When to 2 stores in my area and while they had the BBQ briquettes in stock, the bags they came in were marked Made in the USA? Bought the lump charcoal for now, but would like the Canadian made briquettes as well.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: What binders used in the making of the briquets? Is sawdust used as a binder? Is Coal dust or other fossil fuels incorporated in the making of these briquets? I like the large size of these briquets.

  • A: Briquettes, of course, need a binding agent. Thanks for the explanation of what may be used for that purpose. I like the product and don't find the bags I've purchased to smell of burning coal. I recommend the product. Perhaps the negative reviews have to do with a stray batch that was produced with brown soft coal rather than the much better anthracite hard coal which burns with less odour. I do not doubt that the portion of wood charcoal in the briquettes are 100% Natural wood. However, I think it is misleading to state the briquettes are 100% charcoal (natural or otherwise) when coal makes up a percentage of the briquettes to make them burn longer.
