Great Flavor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second smoker / grill unit. I previously owned a Camp Chef pellet smoker and this unit I feel provides much better temperature control and flavor. My one and only complaint is that the controller began to malfunction roughly after one year of service and the wifi connectivity with the app is atrocious. I just ordered a replacement controller as I was no longer able to adjust the temperature settings at all on the grill. It is the middle of winter so I have not installed the replacement controller yet, but I am hoping this solves the temperature control issue as well as provide a better experience connecting to my phone / Masterbuilt app.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent Smoker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried other vertical smokers and pellet grills and none were able to get the smoke flavor i was looking for. Masterbuilt's gravity fed hit the nail on the head with both smoke flavor and ease of use. It is almost set and forget easy. I have used it so much I just had to replace the smoke tube in the bottom after about 4 years. I have also recommended this to several friends who ask for a smoker/grill recommendation. I have cooked fish, salmon, steaks and the sear was perfect, many briskets and slabs of ribs, pork butts and even bacon.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Gravity fed goodness +electrical tape and hope

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Gravity Series 1050 for 3 seasons now and while I like it for long smokes, there are some details that are less than desirable. The gravity-fed system holds temperature impressively well once dialed in, and the large cooking area handles briskets, ribs, and multiple racks with ease. That said, build quality on the electronic components leaves a lot to be desired. The control panel buttons cracked and began deteriorating within 1 season, though they still function. The door safety switches are flimsy and required some creative rigging (bypassing and reinforcing) to prevent constant shutdowns. The fan occasionally jams from ash or small charcoal pieces falling in; no guard from the factory. I’ve already replaced the firebox walls once, with the masterbuilt kit. I wish that kit would have included a replacement seal for the stack since the original tears easily during disassembly. It’s a solid performer with great potential, but expect to do some DIY maintenance and minor upgrades to keep it running reliably. If you’re handy and don’t mind tinkering, it’s a worthwhile investment. I've seen lots of mods being sold by third party sellers as well. If you want something truly plug-and-play, look elsewhere. Pros: Excellent temp control, large capacity, fast heat-up Cons: Cheap electronics, no fan guard, fragile buttons, replacement parts need better kits

Yes, I recommend this product.
