I got these gloves for a recent glassing trip as I wanted to have my fingers able to articulate my binoculars. I can't speak to the waterproofing, but the two layers do not line up and lay together well, with sliding within the glove. Also, the thumb is hilariously positioned and long, creating almost an extra knuckles worth of length. They did keep my fingers warm while quading in warm weather, but not warm in actual cold weather (but i often have cold hands and need mittens to tolerate any actual cold). I have large hands for a woman, and had to get the small size. Someone with small hands will swim in these.
