However over time the blade connection to the shaft became lose. This resulted in small leak of the black substance coming from the shaft into the food container. It's been going on for the last 4 years out of 8, progressing slowly, but now I decided to replace it. I purchased the same unit despite the issues, as I got it very inexpensive, for $35 only, on sale. So, I think it is worthwhile the buck spent.

Great but starts to leak after a few years

I don't know if I'm expecting too much, but I've had my Magic Bullet for about 5 years, and for around a year it's been leaking liquid from the base when I blend sauces etc. Should I get a different kind, or is this how long it's supposed to function properly?

Q: DOES IT CHOP GARLIC CLOVES FINE PIECES?

A: Personally I wouldn’t use it for that because the little pieces would be hard to pick out of the container/blade and the smell would stay in the plastic. Just my opinion though.
