I have owned two of these in the last 2 years and they both stop working, the switch becomes defective...and I don't use it that much

The container to chop cracked after 1 use. A blender cup cracked after 2nd use.Haven't had time to return it at this point. Good product except the cracking fault.

Q: How is this for chopping up nuts and figs?

A: I find it's not bad at chopping nuts, takes a bit of practice to get desired results, as with all my other mini-choppers (Braun, Cuisinart and this one), you will always get some inconsistency in size of pieces. Haven't tries figs, but suspect that you would need to add some liquid to facilitate chopping. Have used it to puree/chop cooked meat and veggies for my mom that has difficulty swallowing and it works well. Hope this helps

Q: Is the design still such that the plastic nubs break off and render the cup useless for the intended purpose?

A: Thank you for your question. All of our products are made of Tritan. Tritan copolyester is a tough, BPA-free plastic used to make various products that you use every day. Products made from Tritan are impact and shatter resistant. Plus, they stay clear and durable even after years of repeated use and dishwasher cycles.
