Q: Is this Lucas 20/50 synthetic good to use in a Harley V twin 103 I have heard that the Lucas synthetic oil can help the big twin 103 run quieter. Harley V Twin engines are notorious for being noisy. Your thoughts

    • A: The use of our 20w50 syn sae mc oil is definitely going to help with the noise associated with the Twin Cam Harley engines. For an extra measure of protection use up to 500 ml of Lucas Oil HD SYN Oil Stabiliser in the engine as well. Do not use in the primary.

Q: Yamaha spec calls for 20W40 oil, is it okay to use 20W50?

    1 Answer
    • A: the first number in multi grade oil refers to the cold pour point of the oil and the second number refers to the heat index or to what weight the oil thickens to when heated which is 50 in this example. it has the same cold pour point number and a slightly higher heat index number so it should work fine in this application. please remember to use motorcycle specific oil in all motorcycle applications for best results. thank you.

Q: hey thanks was helpful was just wondering also is this oil good on clutches ive heard some syn oil makes a clutch slip is this true?

    1 Answer
    • A: If the synthetic oil in question is a JASO MA/MA2 rated motorcycle specific oil then there is nothing to worry about unless you are in extreme performance applications. Some extreme high horsepower drag bikes do not use synthetic oils because of a concern of clutch slippage but these are 250 hp plus purpose built engines. Most of the rumors of slippage would have occurred from people trying to save a buck and not using motorcycle specific oil and using automotive grade oil in unit construction wet clutch motorcycle. Always use a motorcycle specific oil in motorcycles the additives are specifically designed for that application and will protect your bike’s internal components properly.

Q: Hi i have a 2006 crf 230f stock bike is this oil suitable for it i see ppl say use gn4 honda oil 10w40 i find it breaks down quite fast

    1 Answer
    • A: we make a 10w40 sae mc oil that would meet and exceed the specs of the GN4 from Honda. you could upgrade to the 10w50 syn sae mc oil or the 0w40 syn sae mc oil depending on the temperatures you are operating the the bike in. I would think the 10w50 mc oil would be great and stand up very well. thanks,
