    No charts for most areas

If you are using in Canadian waters, for me it was eastern NS. The supplied charts only cover around the Halifax area. Very disappointed. I am now in the process of removing it form my boat to return it back to the store, if I can.

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Not as claimed

When I looked at the Specification on this produce it claimed that the Transmit Power is 4000W (PTP)/500W RMS. This suggests that this product is very powerful. As a result I rushed out and purchased a Mark 4 GPS before it went off sale at $279.00. I wanted to replace a Lowrance X50 DS which is the older modle of the Lowrance X-4 PRO.. The Transmit Power in the X-4 PRO is 1500W PTP/ 188W RMS. When I reviewed the the Operation manuel and the Techinical Specification listed right on the package I discovered that the Transmit Power is only 2200 PTP/262 RMS. This is an improvement over the 4-X PRO but far lesss then the claim made on this web site. Iit is also a GPS Chatplotter so I may still keep it. I know Canadian Tire will take it back if I go that route. I do like this produce for the value. I know that a 500W RMS power output will be more expensive, and I should have seen the mistake before I made the purchase.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Good little unit

I purchased this mainly for fishing on shallow lakes. The GPS works great and always locks on without any issues. It is very handy being able to mark rocks or weed beds for future reference and saves a lot of time out on the water. Sonar also works very well, overall this is a great fish finder and I would purchase it again.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: When you are on plain does the unit still give you depth and terrain under boat or does it cut out until you slow down or stop? Speed is 30 mph. for example my old fishfinder flashes and gives no detail or depth until you stop then it resets and shows you the bottom of lake.

    • A: The unit has a skimmer-type transducer which should allow readings at speed, but the clarity of any transducer reading is going to heavily influenced by transducer mounting location, water turbulence around the transducer, etc.
