Food tastes like plastic

Food stored in these containers will eventually taste kine plastic. This can not be healthy

I have had this for a number of months. It was great as it was large and advertised as air-tight. Small ant like bugs started to appear in the rice that was inside. I killed all of the bugs by freezing them for a couple of days. Then a couple of weeks later, again an infiltration, these bugs were not in the rice itself. Luckily, rice is easily washable. When the container got low, I transferred the remaining to a sealed container. No more infiltration there. I put some water into the container and turned it upside down. It leaked like a sieve. All of the water appeared to pour out of the lid. When I looked at the lid, you could see a gap clear across to the other side of the lid. What seemed like a sure seal with the lid clasp only made the opening worse. By design, I can now see why it will never be airtight as it is only a plastic lid clasped down at only one place. Now I know how these small bugs got in and they were disgusting, multiplying into the thousands. So, if you are not getting any bugs into your container, it is because they are too big or you don't have any in the first place.

Q: Are these supposed to come with a seal? I bought 3 to keep the bugs out of my flour and sugars, but when I washed them I noticed they leaked everywhere out of the lid. So disappointed ☹️. If they can’t keep water in they are definitely not air tight.
