I love this kettle

My kettle is almost 12 years old. It whistles, boils the water quickly and looks almost new. I am submitting this review because I have just used it on my charcoal barbecue, no power due to hurricane Dorian. It worked great. It got blackened from the barbecue and all I did to clean it was a plastic scrubber and dish soap. It's back to looking like new. I was thinking of getting a new kettle, but not now.

Bought this on sale. Great construction better than the others they had in the store. So far the chrome finish doesn’t seem to stain with the water. So far so good

I love this stove top kettle. Easy to clean, strong, beautiful, designed well. The only problem I had with it is that I left the whistle part in the up position, put on the kettle, then went to continue laundry. Because I did not put the whistle part down, it did not whistle so it did not remind me, and by the time and I returned, it was already scorched. Must remember to put the whistle down, but otherwise a beautiful , excellent quality product.

I've always wanted a steam whistle kettle and this one is everything I have dreamed about. The best feature is that the hands stays cool, no need to an oven mitt of cloth to pick it up! Great whistle, boils quickly and easily. Easy to clean and pour water in. Highly recommended!

Sorry I Bought it

Guess I should have read the fine print before I used it. Have a gas stove and set it at Med-High. Shiny new kettle turned to mat-brass colour. Left water sitting in it and next time I used it noticed rust in bottom of kettle. Not used to having a kettle that I have to use at low temp and emptying water from it after every use

Q: Lagostina 2.8L whistling kettle - how do you remove the 2 plastic washers that are under the screws inside the kettle that hold the handle on? Are you supposed to remove them? I have a health concern regarding plastic in boiling water.
