Krud Kutter Gloss-Off Prepaint Surface Preparation is a no rinse formula that's specially designed to prepare high gloss and other hard-to-stick-to surfaces for repainting or refinishing. Specially formulated to help new paint and varnish bond to old finishes, or as a wall preparation prior to wallpapering. It removes dirt, grease, grime, smoke, mildew, food stains, heel marks, crayon, old wallpaper paste, and wax from painted or unpainted wood, metal, or vinyl wallpaper.

Q: Does this work on laminate cupboards? My laminate is quite glossy

A: Hi Happy Customer, Yes, our Krud Kutter Gloss-Off Pre-Paint Surface Preparation can be used on laminate cupboards. Make sure to test on a small area first. Do not dilute. Use full strength. Saturate a coarse, lint-free cloth, and apply to surface in a circular motion. Fold and re-saturate cloth frequently. Wipe off with a clean cloth, turning cloth often to avoid smears. When the clean, de-glossed surface is dry to the touch (usually about 10 minutes), new finish can be applied. May be coated over anytime after 10 minutes (clean the surface today, recoat even a week later).

No More Sanding

I used Krud Kutter Gloss-Off to prepare my staircase handrails, baserails and spindles for refinishing. This product worked perfectly and I was able to prime and paint without sanding. If you want to refinish glossy surfaces such as handrails or kitchen cupboards this is the product to use before priming. No more sanding. Highly recommended.

Great for cleaning kitchen cupboards prior to painting. Make sure to let it sit for 5-10 minutes first.
