Old one kept beeping at me
a year ago
Gave up on the wired with change em yourself battery models… this ones brought peace and quiet back to house. No more crying wolf going off at 3 am just cause it wanted some new batteries. When this guy goes off it means business.

Q: Does this alarm have the T3 tone? I'm attempting to purchase a fire alarm that will work with the alarms built for deaf individuals, but they need to be T3 and figuring out what is and is not without buying and setting it off myself is proving difficult.

A: No, these are 10 year battery powered alarms only. Model I12010S-CA is hardwired with a 10 year battery back-up.

Q: what is the minimum temperature these units can work in? The building I am in is right around 14 in the winter.

A: The alarm work from +4 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius. Rapid changes in temperature and in humidity levels can have the alarms sound out errors or full alarms as they are designed for household environments. They are not well suited for workshops and RVs.

Q: Why does your website continue to show Kidde smoke alarms in inventory, when only Garrison brand is available on the store shelf? I require a KIDDE brand tamper-resistant smoke alarm in order to comply with provincial rental unit statutes. I can only find Garrison brand on the store shelves.

A: Garrison is hte Canadian Tire "house" brand. It is not manufacturing anything but hires other manufacturers to make them. Some are manufactured by Kidde and they have the same ULC and/or CSA approvals regardless of "brand". Garrison model 46-0016 is the Kidde 0910CA.

Q: What is the KIDDE model number of this unit? Fire Prevention By-law has approved Kidde model #0910CA and # I9010CA for use in rental units. Do either of these model numbers match up with the Kidde unit on your Canadian Tire website?

A: Model number 0910CA is the one used with ULC for approval to use in Canada. We have upgraded the technology in the alarm and used the model i9010CA on the alarm to show which version of the 0910CA it is. As well, Canadian Tire's model number 46-0016 is their part number to match ours of 0910CA. They are all one and the same.

Q: I was wondering if the LED light isn't flashing is there a problem...I ran the test it sounded with in 3 secs, but no light flashing every 45 secs
