The Kidde i4618ACA is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source with 9V battery backup. The front-loading battery door allows you to change the battery without removing the alarm from the mounting bracket making battery replacement easy and convenient.

removing alarm

This one of the Worst Smoke Alarms ever, this is a Hard Wired less than 4 years old started Chirping 2:00 am, i was not able to stop it, i tried to twist it to Uninstall, it did not come off, i ended breaking the mounting plate Tabs, to uninstall it, then i disconnected the battery. this Device should be easy to remove but Kidde made it harder. Now i cant find just the mounting Bracket anywhere that is all i need, the Alarm operate ok.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Website says wrong batteries

I have 5 smoke detectors in my house. Model # i12040A. Mine have 2 AA batteries each. The website says that this model # has a 9 volt battery. I'm holding it my hand and I definitely know the difference. Mine is 2AA batteries.

Six of these were installed in my home brand new. Constant chirping for low battery within months, frequent false alarms in the middle of the night. Will be replacing every last one.

Lots of false alarms even after cleaning, changing battery, unplugging and replugging in. Hitting the button does not turn the alarm off and it won't stop once it starts. So I had to get a ladder and completely disconnect it and take the battery out.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Same constant false alarms as everyone else. We had a house fire and after professional rebuild these were installed. All 6 go off about the same time, around 6 am. Avoid at all cost.

Q: This smoke detector has a 10 year lifespan. The Canadian Tire return policy is 5 years. I bought and installed 2 smoke detectors in 2016. I have replaced brand new batteries in both and they are still beeping. Will Kidde replace my smoke detectors?

A: The Kidde Model i4618AC-CA Is the one I purchased. Does have a 10 year warranty. Canadian Tire has 5 year. Step 1 make sure the battery is in correctly. 2 After installing the batteries you should press the TEST butting and wait. If it turns green great - if not call the Kidde help line they will instruct you further.

A: Malheureusement votre question manque de détails. Si vous voulez dire "pourquoi changer la pile"? c'est parce que les piles doivent non seulement être capable de détecter pendant jusqu'a deux semaines sans courant électrique, mais aussi sonner au moins 4 heures quand il y as raison. Aucune pile alkaline sur le marché ne dure assez longtemps sans être utilisé et maintient sa capacité à ce niveau. Alors on recommande une fois par an.

A: Yes it can be used as a replacement - although the P1276CA is still available. Any Kidde hardwired alarm will work with the same wiring harness.

A: There are 4 holes on the bracket, the smallest difference is 7 cm. the largest is 8.5 cm.
